About ZFD
ZENTRUM FÜR DEUTSCH has been founded by Karina L Schmelzer and Alexander B Schmelzer in November 1992 and started operating in September 1993. ZENTRUM FÜR DEUTSCH is a non-profit educational institution, but100 % self-financing and receiving no governmental or any other subsidies.
Since July 1996 we have a Cooperation Agreement with the Goethe-Institut (Cairo). In early 2000 we have joined the Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache (FaDaF). Since December 2003 we are Official Partner of the Information Technology Institute (ITI). Since November 2004 we have a Cooperation Agreement with the Deutsch-Arabische Gesellschaft.
Since ZENTRUM FÜR DEUTSCH started its activities, the focus of our language education has been devoted to develop and maintain a high level of comprehensive, efficient and practical class-room work; the evaluation of our language courses are in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
We succeed in enabling our participants
· to fit in corresponding German classes in German speaking countries
· to master their university language admission tests
· to adjust easily in a German speaking environment
Our main target groups are young academics, who seek to learn German in order to complete their majors, to do research or because they would like to continue their studies in a German speaking country.
Our teachers are highly qualified graduates in German Studies. All of them have to pass certain stages of a special training for teaching German as a foreign language in a most professional way. On a regular basis meetings and workshops take place to brief our teachers about new developments in how to teach German language in the most efficient way.
Our secretaries are as well graduates in German Studies and assist our students in application matters with German documents if necessary.
Our management is carried out by Karina L Schmelzer (Director). Thanks to the profound help, advice and expertise from the side of our Egyptian friends the management is able to serve the best interests and needs of our students and can always react and respond to necessities and is able to adjust our profile swiftly according to newest demands.
